The Amazon Restoration Company is established as forestry and forest landscape restoration company for value-added timber products based on fast-growing commercial species native to the Peruvian Amazon and the generation of carbon credits from our reforestation efforts.
We establish commercial timber plantations and restore natural forests on private, historically deforested lands with 100% native tree species, and we operate a tree outgrower program with smallholder farmers, in which farmers can integrate native trees on their farms and receive additional income based on timber and carbon credits. Our focus is on fast-growing and commercially proven tree species that can ensure timber supply on the short, medium and long-term.
ARC’s long-term objective is to achieve large scale forest landscape restoration in the Peruvian Amazon with three restoration strategies, using native tree species only:
Amazon Restoration Company restores deforested lands in the Peruvian Amazon using sustainable forestry practices, producing timber and carbon credits while enhancing biodiversity and supporting local communities.
A resilient and productive Amazon landscape that balances economic growth with ecological restoration and social well-being.
Amazon Restoration Company was established in 2022 to address the growing need for sustainable forest plantation management and forest landscape restoration in Peru, contribute to the forestry and timber sector and support Peru in its commitments to climate change mitigation. We have developed a unique approach to forest landscape restoration that integrates biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration, and economic development.
Amazon Restoration Company was founded in 2022 as a subsidiary to Form International, a Dutch forestry consulting company, and further scaled with support from forest carbon accelerator Treevive and the UK government’s Partnerships for Forests program. First lands were acquired by the end of 2022, and first planting on own properties and with farmers in the Campo Verde district commenced in 2023, with subsequent upscaling steps in 2024 and 2025, reaching well over 300 hectares of installed plantations, forest restoration, and trees on farms.
In December 2024, the company adopted the name ARC and is now managed by Keystone Forestry Partners.
Our activities are centered in Ucayali, Peru, with a focus on historically deforested lands and degraded pastures. Our nucleus plantations and outgrower program currently cover over 300 hectares, with the objective to upscale this impact over the next years and decades.
